The Metropolis is the Wild West

The Cinefest displays up to 20 November "Europe's prairies and
canyons." Too many ideas actors and directors are expected.
The Western is a broad field: Lucky Luke (Jean Dujardin, second from
left) and Calamity Jane (Sylvie Testud, second from right) received an
escort. "Lucky Luke" runs on Sunday, 20.11.
Metropolis. When a film is actually a Western? When John Wayne rode
through Monument Valley? Or, men in plaid shirts beat in a bar? Or the
light with the hats are the good guys? With the exception of the first
aspect of the criteria available in the coming days on the bench. In
Metropolis, the original American genre until 20 November
zurückregionalisiert pleasurable. There the Cinefest runs in this
year's theme: "Europe's prairies and canyons between Western Siberia
and the Atlantic.".

Film starts: 10 November
One might think such a thing exists only in American movies: In great
need of the beleaguered hero is calling for the cavalry. The film
historians have now shown that such adventures were also on this side
of the Atlantic material for films and are. They have scoured the
shorts, documentaries and feature films, archives and found that the
Wild West is almost everywhere. In the Tyrolean Alps, in the Mark
Heath, in the Camargue, the Carpathians and southern Spain.
Today shows the Metropolis three films from the program. "The Emperor
of California" is a German film from 1936 in which Luis Trenker has
directed the film. The director himself plays a politically persecuted
young German who emigrated to America in 1830, by proposing to
California and bought a piece of land. When gold is found there, it
will lose him again. Trenker stylized figure is highly questionable as
a leader. Praised be the great landscape shots.
The wanderlust made his own way in East Germany, for example, in the
cinema. "Tecumseh" is an Eastern-Western from 1972. Gojko Mitic plays
the eponymous hero as the Shawnee Indians, who grows up among the
whites. Abluchsen than the lousy tricks with the Indians their lands,
Tecumseh changed sides and tried to unite his red brothers. The
depiction of life in this Defa Indian film is a particularly
realistic. A rogue who wanted to discover, after the contents
criticism of capitalism. It was shot in the Crimea and in the Romanian
Carpathians.
Clint Eastwood was still far from being the great director he is
today, when he in 1965 "For a couple of dollars more" standing in
front of the camera. Sergio Leone directed this classic of the
Italo-Westerns in 1965 as a nationwide German-Italian-Spanish
co-production. Eastwood does in it together with Lee Van Cleef to the
villain El Indio (Gian Maria Volonte) to bring down. Also included is
a character head, the little one wants to miss an Edgar Wallace film:
Klaus Kinski.
In total, the program goes, the film historians have compiled the most
of CineGraph to Hans Michael Bock and Erika Wottrich, a French
Camargue Short-Western from 1912, and Harry Piel's "loaded
Hereditary?" from 1913 to 2009er implementation of live-action comic
book classic, "Lucky Luke".
